With a standard walker, as seen in the brief video below, you may need assistance going down a ramp or hill. The reason is that gravity pulls you down, and you cannot rely on that type of walker for support – but you end up having to pull it up to stabilize yourself! This defeats the purpose of the walker to begin with, as it’s risky, dangerous, and advisable to do so with assistance. With the Wheellator, you can simply use one of the power walk modes to help. “When I was asked if I wanted to test and evaluate the Wheelator, I was so excited. I can walk but my problem is that I am not able to walk for long distances. Sometimes I feel suddenly weak and unstable. While I have a folding wheelchair, that doesn’t give me the option to safely walk behind it and use it as support. My doctor wants me to walk when I can and this Wheelator gives me the confidence to get out more often and do more things. I just wish something like this had been invented several years ago. When you are using the Wheelator as an Electric Powered Wheelchair, there are reflectors on the back of the handles. They are UP HIGH instead of down low, so you are more visible when traveling in lower light.
Pictured above, to the left – You see a Walker that can be used to assist you on inclines and steady you on declines – Or you can just use it as a “free wheel” walker with adjustable tension hand brakes. In the middle, there is a “Quick Release” button. that allows the adjustable, articulating leg rests with fold-up footplates to move into wheelchair mode.
The Wheelchair Mode joystick is not only removable, but it adjusts as well. Notice the range on the handle, which is designed so you can have the joystick knob closer, or further away from the back of the Wheelator for your driving comfort.
The Wheelator 5 in 1 Rollator Wheelchair Combo has adjustable tension handbrakes. With the simple turn of a know located just above the manual brakes on the rear wheels, you can make the brakes more or less sensitive. While this may be one of many small details, this makes a world of difference when it comes to using your Wheelator, YOUR WAY.
In addition to the handles being adjustable in height, so is the gel-filled articulating backrest cushion. Keep in mind this cushion supports your back, adjustable to where you are most comfortable in both walker and wheelchair mode.

There are TWO (2) Ways to LOCK your Wheelator for Security and Safe Seating
The Handbrakes on the back of your Wheellator can be PUSHED DOWN to completely lock the device – PREVENTING IT FROM ROLLING. This is Excellent when you are using the Wheelator as a WALKER with a seat, and just want to take a break, or have a seat for a while.
The REAR CONTROLLER has multiple functions. When you are in Manual resistance Mode (Pictured above) the device will not allow you to push it backward, from the front. This allows you to safely take a seat and use the Wheelator as a Motorized Wheelchair!

With the simple flip of the articulating backrest, you can use your Wheelator as a seat to take a break when you are walking, using the rollator function. When you are ready to use your Wheelator as a power wheelchair, once again, just flip the articulating backrest, then the Rollator is INSTANTLY a Power Wheelchair, as pictured below:
In addition to flipping over the backrest and unlatching the leg rests, the Wheelator features TWO (2) controllers as standard operation. One controller is on the back of the device, so you can either use it as an assistive walking aid when in walker mode – or when in wheelchair mode, an attendant can easily use it to drive the motorized wheelchair.
Of course, the Wheelator has a joystick (removable and adjustable) on the fold-away arms that allows you to take the controls and use your Wheelator as a lightweight, motorized wheelchair when you want. The engineering team was able to marry the best of both worlds with the Wheelator. When you are using it as a rollator, not only do comfort-grip handlebars and trusty handbrakes keep you stable, but your Wheelator is designed to prevent falls. Any sudden movement forward, as in a slip and the brakes will engage (when the power assist is on) to instantly prevent a fall and provide a stable platform for you to regain balance. Additionally, you can use resistance walking for keeping your Wheelator slower, or at your pace when you are going down a ramp or hill. When you want some help with walking, you can simply use the controller in the back of the Wheelator to move forward so you are not pushing it, but it is helping you walk.
