In addition to being FAA approved for travel – AND – providing up to 15 miles of travel per battery (your Air Hawk comes with two batteries) there is another feature to be grateful about. BATTERY PLACEMENT! While a majority of portable motorized wheelchairs have batteries under and behind the chair (back-breaker battery location), the Air Hawk’s batteries are on the sides of the chair, as pictured above. Not only does this provide more battery safety when using your Air Hawk, but you also don’t have to get on your hands and knees behind the chair to remove the batteries!

The Air Hawk Lightweight Power Chair has a simple-to-use joystick controller. The controller can be mounted on either side of the chair (or on the back with the controller bracket) and moved easily and at will. The controller is intuitive and allows a user to navigate and drive The AirHawk with just one finger if need be. Even though Lightweight Portable Mobility Scooters have been available for some time, they require strength and dexterity in both arms and hands. Mobility Scooters are also heavier and require more time to assemble and disassemble for transport.

Attendant Control Bracket (Optional)
The AirHawk is available with an optional Attendant Control Bracket allowing a health aide or attendant to move the controller from the arm to the back of the chair. This provides the ability to operate the chair while walking behind the chair and a patient or handicapped individual in the wheelchair. Some handicapped individuals are unable to operate a wheelchair themselves. For that reason, the optional Attendant Controller Bracket is available. Price = $178
